Places of Interest

There are various places of interest that have links to our ships.
St. Nicholas Church on the Naval Base at Devonport, HMS Drake, is where the association unveiled it's first memorial plaque in 2001 and where each year on the Sunday closest to the 8th of June, hold our annual memorial service. St. Nicolas also holds the book of remembrance to all the sailors lost on the Devonport based ships and individual entries can be viewed.
At St. Peter's Church at Martindale in Cumbria and Holy Cross at Bearsted in Kent, stained glass windows to the memory of Lieutenant Commander William Parkin and the officers and men of HMS Glorious can be found.
The National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas in Staffordshire is well worth a visit and is home to our association memorial and tree planted by Mr Ron Dowle (Glorious survivor) in 2005.
